The Association
The Virgen del Carmen de Garabandal Pilgrims Association is a civil, non-profit, legally constituted Association, registered in the Registry of Associations of Cantabria with number 5766, made up of natural and legal persons, without distinction of race or nationality, believers in the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin in San Sebastián de Garabandal (Rionansa- Cantabria- Spain), who are grouped together voluntarily, with the following purposes:
- Construction and maintenance of an Information and Assistance Center for Pilgrims in San Sebastián de Garabandal-Rionansa-Cantabria-Spain. (The Center was inaugurated on December 4, 2014)
- Safeguard the historicity of the extraordinary events that occurred between 1961 and 1965, in the town of San Sebastián de Garabandal.
- Promote and undertake any social, charitable and cultural works that may be considered by the Association as a social good.
- To be an instrument of support and management for the Parish of San Sebastián de Garabandal.
- Organization and management of get-togethers for members, in San Sebastián de Garabandal.
- Construction and maintenance of a shelter and soup kitchen, to welcome the most disadvantaged Pilgrims.
The Association has its headquarters in the old schools of San Sebstián of Garabandal Plaza de la Iglesia s/nº- San Sebastián of Garabandal (39554- Rionansa-Cantabria-Spain)
The Associates, with their contribution of the annual fee (€30 per family), collaborate in the maintenance of the Pilgrim Care Center, and in the dissemination of the messages that the Blessed Virgin saw fit to give to the world in San Sebastián de Garabandal . Every Thursday of the year, in the Church of San Sebastián de Garabandal, during the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, a prayer request is presented for the associates and benefactors.
TYPES OF MEMBERS (Chapter IV of the Statutes)
Article 23. Those people with the capacity to act who have an interest in the development of the Association's purposes may belong to the Association.
Article 24. Within the Association there will be the following classes of members:
a) Founding Members, who will be those who participate in the act of constitution of the Association.
b) Numerary Members, who will be those who join after the constitution of the Association.
c) Benefactor Members, who will be those who contribute in an extraordinary way to the purposes of the Association
Article 26. Full members and Founders will have the following rights:
a) Participate in any activities organized by the Association in compliance with its purposes.
b) Enjoy all the advantages and benefits that the Association can obtain.
c) Participate in the Assemblies with voice and vote.
d) Be voters and eligible for positions on the Board of Directors.
e) Receive information about the agreements adopted by the Association's bodies.
f) Be informed about the composition of the governing and representative bodies of the association, its financial statements and the development of its activity.
g) Challenge the agreements of the association's bodies that you consider contrary to the law or the Statutes.
Artícle 27. Numerary and Founding partners will have the following obligations:
a) Comply with these Statutes and the valid agreements of the Assemblies and the Board of Directors.
b) Pay the fees and contributions that are established.
c) Perform, where appropriate, the obligations inherent to the position they occupy.
d) Share the purposes of the association and collaborate to achieve them.
